Football

Football, known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by propelling a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using predominantly the feet, but players can also use other parts of their body, excluding the arms and hands, to control the ball. Each match is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, and standard matches consist of two halves, typically lasting 45 minutes each. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular sports globally, enjoyed by millions of players and fans, with major international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup and club competitions like the UEFA Champions League highlighting its prominence. Football fosters teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, making it a widely respected and celebrated sport across cultures.
