Football Match

A football match is a competitive game played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective is to score more goals than the opposing team by moving a ball into the opponent’s goal, primarily using the players’ feet, but also allowed by other body parts except for the hands and arms (the latter is generally restricted to the goalkeepers). Matches can vary in duration but are usually played over two halves of 45 minutes each, with a break in between. The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Football matches are typically recognized at various levels, including amateur, professional, and international competitions, culminating in prestigious tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. The sport is widely popular globally, fostering a significant cultural following and engagement at both community and professional levels.
